I’m not even going to try to memorialize John Hughes here. There are plenty of people all over the Internet who are much better writers than me to do that.
But, it’s safe to say that if you have a Top 5 80′s Movies list, John Hughes had something to do with it.

Filmmaker John Hughes was the Philosopher of Puberty, the Auteur of Adolescent Angst. He died unexpectedly Thursday at the age of 59. The cause was a heart attack.
