Snowmageddon 2011Alive Remembered

Two weeks after the great Snowpocalypse of 2011, the 11Alive team was rewarded with lunch, “Snowmagaddon 2011Alive” t-shirts and commemorative ice scrapers.

About Chris Sweigart

Chris joined 11Alive.com as a Web Producer in October 2007. A native Atlantan, he is returning to his roots from Columbus, Georgia, where he worked as a Reporter and Web Site Coordinator. As a reporter for WRBL-TV, Sweigart’s work knew no borders. In 2005, he was embedded with the Army’s 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, based out of Fort Benning, Georgia, during the unit’s second deployment to Iraq. Aside from covering Fort Benning and the Army, he also covered city politics. While his job description said “Television Reporter”, Sweigart often contributed articles for WRBL’s newspaper partner, The Opelika-Auburn News. After two years as a reporter, Sweigart was promoted to Web Site Coordinator for WRBL.com and OANow.com. During his time running both sites, he implemented dozens of online initiatives including the launch of AuburnVersus.com and a redesign of WRBL.com. Sweigart graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a degree in Politics. While in college, he worked behind the scenes as a production assistant for CSS covering sports around the Southeast. He also completed two internships at CNN. After college, Sweigart was promoted by CSS to Associate Producer/Reporter, and was assigned to cover the Atlanta Falcons for the 2003 season on a new network launched by CSS called FalconsVision. It was the first 24-hour television station devoted entirely to one NFL team. Sweigart grew up in Duluth, Georgia and attended Duluth High School. When he's not covering the news, he can be found on the golf course, taking in a good baseball or hockey game, or hanging out with friends.

I would hope that those who risked life and limb on icy roads to go over the river and through the woods to offer 10-secs of lipflap on some 11Alive news product would be able to get one of those puppies. Hint hint.
