WASHINGTON (11ALIVE) — How would you cut government spending if you had a say?

Now you do.

On Wednesday, House Republicans launched a new initiative called YouCut, which allows people to vote on spending cuts in Congress.

ATLANTA -- On Wall Street and in corporate America, insider trading is not only frowned upon, it's illegal. But, as a Georgia State University professor discovered some of our elected officials may be making investment decisions based on information normal American's don't have access to.

Privilege and access are just some of the perks afforded to America's elected officials and according to Dr. Alan Ziobrowski, a business professor at Georgia State University, access to information may be helping congressmen boost their investment portfolios.

So-called “birthers” believe Barack Obama was actually born in Kenya.  They say the President’s failure to produce a birth certificate proves there is some sort of conspiracy to cover up the President’s true birthplace.

For his part, President Obama and the White House staff maintain the President is a naturally born citizen.

Mike Stark, a University of Virginia Law Student, a Marine and a Citizen Journalist for Huffington Post recently caught up with a bunch of legislators in Washington, D.C.

Stark asked them a simple question: “Do you believe President Obama was born in Hawaii?” He was met with varied responses… and no responses.

He wrote about his experiences on HuffPost.com.  (His written account is heavily slanted with liberal commentary.) The video he produced while gathering the story is one of the most popular videos on the YouTube right now.
